Composition
Each vial of AGILIN-P 4.5 contains:
Piperacillin Sodium USP equivalent to Piperacillin…4g
Tazobactam Sodium equivalent to Tazobactam…0.5g
 

Indications & Usage
AGILIN-P Injection is indicated for nosocomal pneumonia, skin & soft tissue infections and Intra-abdominal infections of immuno-compromised patients, PID.
         
Contraindications
AGILIN–P should not be given to patients with a history of hypersensitivity to penicillin antibiotics. Since AGILIN – P contains sodium, therefore in patient with high BP or CHF, situation get worse by increase of salt intake.
         
Administration of this drug for patient with cystic fibrosis, kidney disease, seizures with cautiously. During pregnancy, this medication should be used only when clearly needed.
         
Adverse Reactions
Side effects of AGILIN – P are platelet disorders, rash, GI disturbances, headaches, neutropenia if Used more than 10 days, rash, pruritis, phlebitis.
         
Drug Interactions
Some products that may interact with this drug include: "blood thinners" (e.g., enoxaparin, heparin, warfarin), live bacterial vaccines, cancer chemotherapy, lithium, methotrexate, probenecid, tetracy clines, "water pills" (diuretics such as furosemide, hydrochlorothiazide).
         
Dosage & Administration
AGILIN-P dosage in adults is 3.375gm in every 6 hours daily for 7 to 10 days.
         
For Nosocomial Pneumonia 4.5gm in every 6 hours daily for 7-14 days
