Indications & Usage
Contraindications
AGEXA-200 (ofloxacin 200mg) is contraindicated in those with known hypersensitivity to its ingredients, pregnant women, or those having possibilities of being pregnant, and in children. Breast feeding is to be avoided whilst on AGEXA treatment.
Precautions & Warnings
AGEXA - 200 is to be advocated with caution in severe nephropathy, convulsive disorders, known hyper sensitivity to quinolones and in elderly patients. It should be co-administered with caution along with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, antacids, hematinics and anticoagulants.
Adverse Reactions
AGEXA-200 can cause gastrointestinal intolerance, psychoneurologic symptoms and allergic reactions. It can rarely cause malaise, fever, palpitations, taste abnormality, convulsions, acute renal failure, jaundice, hematologic abnormalities, rhabdomyolysis, hypoglycemia in susceptible diabetics, tendon disorders and psychiatric symptoms such as confusion.
Drug Interaction
Ofloxacin (AGEXA - 200) can interact with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, antacids, hematinics and anticoagulants.
Dosage & Administration
Adults: AGEXA-200 Tablet twice daily depending on the severity of infection, or as prescribed.
