Composition
Each vial contains:
Rabeprazole Sodium IP.........20mg
(As a sterile freeze-dried powder for reconstitution)
With 5ml of Sterile Water for Injection,IP
 

Indications 
• GERD ( Gastroesophageal reflux disease )
• Gastroparesis: Gastroparesis is a condition that reduces the ability of the stomach to empty its contents
• Dyspepsia: Dyspepsia is a condition of impaired digestion.
         
Contraindications
RABAZE-20 (Rabeprazole 20 mg) IV injection is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to rabeprazole, or substituted benzimidazoles or to any excipient used in the formulations.
RABAZE-20 is contraindicated in patients with hepatic and/or renal impairment, prolactin-releasing pituitary tumour.
RABAZE-20 should not be used when stimulation of the gastric motility could be harmful, like gastrointestinal hemorrhage, mechanical obstruction or perforation.
RABAZE-20 is contraindicated in pregnancy and during breast feeding.
         

Adverse Reactions
Generally well tolerated. The observed adverse events have generally been mild/moderate and transient in nature. Adverse effects include GI disturbances, headache and skin rash. 
Immune system disorder: Very rare; allergic reactions including anaphylaxis, anaphylactic shock, anaphylactic reaction, urticaria and angioedema.
Cardiac disorders: QTc prolongation (frequency not known). Very rare; ventricular arrhythmias.
Gastrointestinal disorders: Rare; gastrointestinal disorders, including very rare transient intestinal.
Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders: Very rare; pruritus, rash.
         
Drug Interactions
Metabolize by cytochrome P450 drugs, inhibition of hepatic metabolism of certain drugs like phenetoin, diazepam & R isomer of warfarin.
         
Dosage 
The I.V.administration is recommended only in cases where oral administration is not indicated. As soon as an oral therapy is possible the I.V.therapy should be discontinued.
Recommended dose is IV administration of the content of one vial (20 mg rabeprazole) once daily.
Parenteral routes of administration other than I.V. are not recommended.
Injection: The content of the vial needs to be reconstituted with 5 ml sterile water for injection, which should be given slowly over 5-15 minutes.
Infusion: For I.V. infusion, the reconstituted solution should be further diluted and administered as a short-term infusion over 15-30 minutes.
